Opening Reception for August gallery show!

Come join use for First Friday this August 5th at 6PM to see some new beautiful art and visit with your arts community! We'll have music too, so it promises to be a delightful summer evening!
Reception goes from 6pm to 9pm, and is located at our gallery in downtown Bellingham: 1418 Cornwall Ave.

Submit Your Art to Our 2023 Juried Gallery Series! DEADLINE: August 25
|
|
We are looking for multimedia and multidisciplinary artists to fill our exhibits in 2023, no previous gallery/ exhibition experience required! We accept and have the ability to display a wide range of work in the gallery space from large ceramic sculptures to glass cases for handmade jewelry. This is an excellent opportunity for emerging artists to gain experience for CVs and artist resumes, interact with local art community, build a portfolio, and sell work.
The application period is open now through 5pm on Friday, August 25th, 2022. Membership is required for this series at the business level to participate, but there are no additional jury, application or exhibit fees. Memberships can also be filled out online or are available in the Allied Arts Gallery at 1418 Cornwall Avenue, Downtown Bellingham.

Allied Arts is offering $200 each to 5 community members to create Mini Art Galleries as a part of resiliency funding from Whatcom Community College! We can't wait to see how local creativity can brighten our neighborhoods!

City Seeks Proposals for Roundabout Art! DEADLINE:
August 5th, 12:00 PM
The City of Bellingham seeks an artist or artist team to design, fabricate and install artwork at a roundabout located on Cordata Parkway and Horton Road. The deadline to respond to a Request for Qualifications for the project is noon, August 5, 2022.
The primary goal of this project is to provide a unique feature that serves as a gateway into this developing area of the Cordata Neighborhood, while increasing quality of life and attracting tourism and visitors to the city.
The roundabout is located at the entrance to a residential area where future residential development is planned. The project is primarily funded through the City's One Percent for the Arts, a program that dedicates 1% of large capital project budgets to be allocated for artwork. For this project, $80,000 – $95,000 is available for all phases of the artwork.

MAC Artist Fellowship Program DEADLINE: August 10, 11:59 PM

This program exists to support artists with tools, resources, and funding to ensure artists thrive. We seek to foster personal connections with individual artists for the purposes of impacting and building community. We welcome artists who push boundaries, provoke and compel, are changemakers, mentors, teachers, champions of issues of social justice, messengers, community builders, and more.
|
|
|
|
The program is designed to recognize and empower Washington state visual artists who are highly-motivated, emerging and mid-career, looking to transition from undiscovered to established, self-sustaining professionals.
There will be two levels of application review: - Portfolio, Artist & Impact Statements, and
- In-person Interview - this will be in a GROUP interview setting. Top candidates will spend the day all together along with our selection committee.

Kulshan Brewing Wants Your Art!
Looking for a place to display your work? Kulshan is starting a rotating artist series at the Kulshan Brewing Roosevelt (K2) Taproom. These four-day residencies will be focused on building back the cultural economy and finding creative ways to spur recovery.
