Allied Arts of Whatcom County invites you to
our Form and Figure exhibit, an exploration of artwork challenging the
traditional two-dimensional space of the canvas. This show features the work of
Alene Johnson, Daelinar Adama, Frank Frazee, and Sam Chapman.
Alene Johnson creates assemblage art made from
altered, found and discarded objects.
Daelinar Adama uses nature as his primary
medium, creating mandalas and collages out of found seeds, leaves, wood, bark
in detailed and surprising arrangements.
Frank Frazee paints, draws, and constructs
using acrylic and latex paint found at The Restore. He mostly uses
recycled wood found anywhere he finds it.
Sam Chapman brings us landscapes of “the
secluded garden”, a Trecento theme of enclosure and protection. Shapes, patterns, chance, and flow -and their
relationships to the canvas- are the focus of the work.
